GAZETTEER and South West Iran
My
current interest is presently, but not limited to, below lat. 29.5° N
in the provinces of
Bushehr, Fars and
Kerman, and the western half of Hormozgan with particular interest in
and about Lar and southwards. Primarily looking at place names and
toponyms and providing their text usage in references / sources.
Includes archaeological sites, caravanserai, cisterns, chahar taqs,
routes and streams of interest but is not comprehensive.
I would like to receive any corrections and/or comments on what I have

غرب ایران
علاقه فعلی من در حال حاضر، اما نه محدود به، زیر لات است. ۲۹.۵ درجه
شمالی در استان‌های بوشهر، فارس و کرمان و نیمه غربی هرمزگان با جاذبه‌ای
خاص در و حدود لار و جنوب. در درجه اول به بررسی نام مکان ها و نام ها و
ارائه استفاده از متن آنها در منابع / منابع.
شامل محوطه های باستانی، کاروانسرا، آب انبارها، چهارطاق ها، مسیرها و
نهرهای مورد علاقه است اما جامع نیست.
مایلم هرگونه اصلاح و یا نظری در مورد آنچه در اینجا منتشر کرده ام از
طریق تماس موجود در بنر بالا دریافت کنم. |

Area
|
The
study area covered began with the Oman coastline, expanded to the
Persian Gulf coastline and islands, then south west Iran and is now
expanding northwards and eastwards following the caravanserai routes to
Iraq and Afghanistan.

History

Ignorant
of the locations of many place names, developed a database to record
their coordinates and variant names and sources.

to my readings and current interests.

an integrated MS Access database, pdf files and desktop Google Earth
Pro.

Publishing

Web html
files and Google Earth .kml and .kmz files. This enables all subsets to
be viewed in Google Earth.

Gazetteer

Routes
List page lists
routes recorded by travellers. Some are the
traditional caravan routes and others are journeys made by individuals.
In addition to the
stage locations, are places passed by / through and noted (these have
an alphabetic suffix to the stahe number). Completed routes will have a
map link at the end of the header line to a large image of the stages
and track.

information on the stages (not always complete).
