1 Introduction
Since 2009 when revision 3 was completed, many new image sources have been made published online such as the Norman B. Leventhal Map & Education Center at the Boston Public Library, the Qatar Digital Library in association with the British Library, the HathiTrust Digital Library, Google Books, the National Library of Portugal Online at the Biblioteca National de Portugal and many others.
Note on usage - In this revision 4 the first line of the text accompanying each image is my own image reference and this may be preceeded by the icon  that links to the full size of the image shown and may be succeeded by the icon  that links to the book/map/drawing in which the image is set. The text may include # followed by a number, this is my bibliographic reference number that preceeds the bibliographic reference given. Increasing the image size has been possible now that many libraries and museums have digitised their inventories or holdings and made them available to the general public.

1541 ? Aubin disputes the date that Silveira gives as circa 1529 saying that it shows the fortress, the pilori of Albuquerque and the minaret, but confuses all the remainder in diagrammatic lines and as the royal palace does not appear there, the sketch must be after 1539-1540. #898 Aubin, Jean, the kingdom of Ormuz at the beginning of XVIe century, Luso-Indicum Pond, Geneva, 1973 ~ notes p. 83

Asia Recens Summa Cura Delineata
artist/engraver: Pietro Todeschi
publisher: Sabatini, Francesco
date: 1670
city Views: top 6/6 Ormus
inventory/collection: Altea Gallery, London
collection note: "This map was published by Francesco Sabatini, one of the many fringe figures in Italian map-making and publishing in the late seventeenth century. Unfortunately, even accurate dates for his life and death elude us, while his work life can be established only by the rough dating of his maps dependent on the dedications on those maps bearing them, but he was apparently active as a printer and publisher (and possibly engraver) in the 1670s, probably in Bologna. This a contemporary piracy of Dutch carte-à-figures maps, popularised in the first part of the seventeenth century, although it seems likely that the map was plagiarised from intermediate Italian copies, perhaps by Stefano Scolari, an engraver and publisher (or possibly two different men) active from the 1640s to 1660s."

inventory/collection: Geographicus Rare Antique Maps, New York

collection note: "Both the imprint and the professed authorship were misleading: the map was engraved in Venice, not Amsterdam, and it has been attributed to the illustrator and printer Stefano Mozzi Scolari. The map is dated 1655. It is perhaps ironic that of the Dutch mapmakers from whom Scolari sourced this map, not one element appears to have been drawn from Blaeu, apart from his name. The engraver does not seem to be completely committed to a deception: faintly in the lower right border is an additional, more honest imprint, 'in Venetia à S. Fosca'"
